Hi! I’m Ashley

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and the owner of Taproot Counseling. I specialize in working with ADHD, Autism Level 1, trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges. I especially enjoy supporting young adults navigating college life, motherhood and major transitions.

Before becoming a therapist in 2018, I worked as a social worker for nearly a decade. My undergrad is in social work, and during those years, I had the privilege of working with diverse clients in a variety of settings—including community mental health, family perseveration, MYPAC, and the elderly and disabled waiver. That time gave me a deep respect for each person’s lived experience and shaped the grounded, relational approach I bring into the therapy room today.

Outside the therapy room, I’m a wife, and mom to an amazing autistic son, and someone who finds peace and clarity in the gym. I’ve learned that listening to your body while lifting teachs you how to listen to it outside of the gym too—and that same attunement is at the heart of the therapy I offer.

Healing takes root in safety, presence, and connection. My goal is always to work myself out of a job—to help you build tools, self-trust, and clarity you need to carry your growth forward. I’d be honored to walk that journey with you.

My Therapeutic Approach

Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all and neither is therapy.

I take a holistic and eclectic approach to counseling, grounded in the belief that the mind, body, and spirit are deeply connected. My goal is to help you explore healing through a variety of methods, always guided by what works best for you.

Here are a few approaches I draw from:

Internal Family Systems (IFS)-to explore the different parts of self with compassion and curiosity.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)-to support trauma processing and emotional healing.

Brainspotting- to access and release stuck or unpressed experiences stored in the body.

Experiential- including resourcing, creative processing, and personalized interventions.

Nervous System Education & Regulation-Learn how your body reacts to stress and how to support yourself through grounding, movement, breathe work, and awareness.
